Our Membership

The Probus Club of Eltham North Inc., has a membership ceiling of 100 members.

We currently have no waitlist for retired or semi-retired men and women who are interested in joining our Club.

We meet on the first Thursday of the Month (February-November inclusive) at 10.00am at the Greensborough RSL and we welcome visitors to our meetings.

This is the monthly general meeting and runs for 30 minutes approximately, introducing visitors, and reviewing administration matters.  The activity coordinators give their reports and future schedules, and that is followed by refreshments and fellowship.  At about 11 am our Guest Speaker is introduced to speak on diverse topics and share questions and responses from the members.  The overall meeting runs for about 2 hours and many members take the opportunity to have lunch at the RSL immediately after the meeting.  We encourage new members of our Club to also join the Greensborough RSL; this not only allows members to receive discounts on RSL meals and drinks, but our Club gets a small financial benefit from the RSL based on the number of members joining.

Monthly Newsletters

Our monthly newsletter provides information to our members of club news and activities, as well as other matters of interest – refer to the tab for current and past copies.

2020 and 2021 brought on many challenges for us all with the Covid-19 pandemic, and it continues to have an effect on the population generally. We recognise that our membership is in the most vulnerable age group and we continue to take every care for the health and safety of our members and community.  However we continue to stay positive and plan ahead, and have some exciting activities scheduled for the future; we all hope that with increased vaccinations we can safely get back to enjoying our Probus Fun, Friendship and Fellowship.

If you are interested in joining the Probus Club of Eltham North, or if you would like to learn more about the Club, please contact us.

Monthly General Meeting

At our monthly general meeting on the first Thursday of each month there is always a guest speaker. Some examples of speakers for 2022 were from Border Security, Ripponlea Historical Home, Greyhound Adoption Program, Muslim women in the Middle East, Eltham Rotary (re their association with Probus), Representatives from Greensborough RSL discussing their community involvement and Financial Planning in retirement. All speakers were very informative and were well received.

New members are most welcome and prospective members are invited to join us at a few meetings to see if they like us.
